Each project within the environment is tracked by CVS. When working on a project the developer should create and work within a branch. This will keep developers from stepping on each others code and will keep the trunk clean for released and release candidate code.

To create a branch, right click on the project, select Team, select Branch.... Enter the name of the new branch in the first field. The branch name should reflect the proposed change or bug fix or some other indication of what work is being done. The branch name may not contain spaces. CVS will track the branch and ensure all CVS activity for the project takes place on the branch. While it is possible to intermix files from different branches in a single project it is not recommended.
